These are soooooooooo cute and simple to make. Use an 11 or 12 inch long by 1 inch wide strip of designer paper or cardstock. Score at half an inch from one end, then score every inch from that lst score line. You will have half an inch at the end. Fold up accordian style, then use your handy dandy crop a dile (love this tool) to punch a hole through all layers (not the end half inch layers) with just one squeeze! This hole is slightly smaller than a pencil width but push the pointed end of a sharpened pencil through all the holes first, then a new pencil will just slide through easy peasy. I used the large and small oval punches to make the antennae. The pink circle is the 1 1/4 circle punch with the small crop a dile hole punch used to punch out the eyes. (sounds cruel, hehehe). I attached this circle to a 1 3/8 black circle with the antennae adhered between the circles. I outlined the eyes with the white gel pen and drew the nose and mouth with the black marker. The head was attached with a dimensional. Hearts were punched out of the SendingLove Specialty paper from the Occasions Mini Catalog.
This idea came from Janet Wakeland who got it from a magazine. These would make cute teacher gifts or if you want sweets, then pixie sticks will work too.
I plan to make green ones for St. Patty's Day for one of my Red Hat Groups.
